Yu-Ying Huang’s Ceramics Collection

This one is for my Lavender Fields collection of work. They are inspired by the beautiful lavender fields I saw in Provence, France during my vacation there in 2013. The glaze is to depict the scenery and landscape of lavender fields.

The blue glaze with white crystal effects depicts the sky and clouds. The green/yellow glazes are the trees/bushes/forests around the lavender fields. Some of the work have gold luster dots on them as fireflies.

Yuying Huang Ceramics - Leaf CollectionThe Leaf Collection of work uses a very unique and old technique traced back to China 1200+ years ago. You put a real leaf on top of the work, have it go through extreme high fire of 1300 degrees (Celsius), have the leaf melt into the glaze and become a natural art on the pottery.
