Fine artist Lucy looks at the human condition and plant morphology

Lucy Andersson is a formally trained fine artist based in Christchurch, New Zealand. She specialises in pen drawing and watercolour art; demonstrating her refined skills in stippling and strong contrast of paint.

Lucy’s botanical work looks at plant morphology and ecological adaptation, While her pen works focus more on the human condition.

Lucy cultivates a lot of indoor plants which she often uses as part of her inspiration for her botanical watercolours, taking images and then cropping out and adding other images to create new and interesting compositions.

In her spare time, Lucy does pet commissions for clients, features in local and international exhibitions, and focusing on improving her skills as a fine artist.

Currently, Lucy is working as a full-time artist and freelancer.
