Lesley Nilsson Creating Beauty of Fluid Art

Canadian artist Lesley Nilsson grew up in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Long obsessed with colour, mixtures and combinations, Lesley has become immersed in the beauty of fluid art and the tranquility that arises when bringing colour to life.

Much of Lesley’s artistic passion and creativity comes from having lived internationally for over 18 years. Every new city and country provided unparalleled opportunities for adventure and learning. Consistently drawn to others with artistic talents, new friends were always willing to provide lessons in watercolour, acrylics, and collage. Lesley owes much of her artistic development to these cherished collaborations.

Upon first being introduced to fluid painting, Lesley was both captivated and spellbound. The fluidity of the medium requires a stillness and patience within to help move and guide the paint. Being able to breath, slow down and ground herself in the moment instantly removes anxiety and worries while bringing about a peaceful pace that lasts long after the canvas is completed.

Lesley is married, has two grown daughters, and resides once again in Kelowna, British Columbia. She can be found hiking throughout the trails of the valley or creating new works of beauty in the studio at her home. ~ Blue Thistle Fluid Art
