Michal Lukasiewicz Figurative Realism Art of the Female Form
Currently, I live and work in a small town Pulawy in central Poland, but for 20 years was living in Antwerp, Belgium.
There I had my first solo show, followed by large number of exhibitions I frankly lost track of. Also cooperated with several galleries from Belgium as well as Holland, France, Luxembourg and United States.
Recently I gave up cooperation with my galleries and went independent trying to earn my living by selling my works directly to collectors via my website. (check it out Michal Lukasiewicz).
I often being asked about my technique.
Although it is pure acrylic painting, the focus on three-dimensional aspects relates it to sculpture. Finishing part in my monochromatic works, done with small brush and dark acrylic paint makes it similar to drawing.
The key is building a work by removing as well as adding various layers of paint. I usually paint several pieces simultaneously, as I have to allow for drying and curing of layers of paint. As a result, I often leave unfinished pieces for weeks or months.
Technique is still evolving and thus challenging for myself, but behind it, I always try to capture certain moods or feeling or atmosphere.
I see Leonardo, I see Magritte here… And the grace and purity of feminine youth and emotionality that is intoxicating.
Oh…the revelation of a true, true artist.
Thoroughly impressed! The certain mood feeling atmosphere you say you try to capture…. Impeccable. Love these. Each one the woman portrayed shares an intimate story. I’ve just become a huge fan.
