The drawings inspired by the figurative form and the conflicting strength and fragility

My work is created using an instinctive and spontaneous approach to drawing. I am interested in the human condition primarily. The conflicting strength and fragility of the human body and mind. I like to think that the figures I create are in between states of creation and destruction. Life and death. The atmosphere is one of existentialism but I feel that the work doesn’t exclude the possibility of a higher, spiritual energy. Soul. Another dimension. Time. Perception. Physicality. Meditation. Presence. There is also a dream like quality to the drawings. A dark ethereal aesthetic.

I believe art should make you feel something. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to get inside your head. Make you think. I do not aim to produce nice, decorative images. My sole intention is to express. ~ @Daniel Meikle
