Noel Macararanga Handmade Beautiful Quilling Paper Art

Letter “A” Quilling Typography – This quilling typography was made with 10 mm 230 gsm colored paper strips on a 12×12 inches, 3 mm thick, white sintra board. Colors, joy and nature were my inspiration for this which are reminiscences of the time when I was still in highschool which presents a connection to me and to the one who requested, my highschool friend. It took me roughly 40 hours to finish but I guess the time and effort were worth it since after I posted this one on my social media accounts a number of friends and even strangers got interested in having their own commissioned works. I was really amazed and it was kind of surreal that more and more people are appreciating paper quilling because this kind of art, for me, is not well known and represented.

Green Mandala

This was made with 3 mm 120 gsm colored paper strips on a 12×12 inches, 3mm thick, white sintra board. Since I started my paper quilling account on Instagram I discovered mandala dedicated profiles which inspired me to make my own with paper as my medium. It took me almost 35 hours to finish this piece considering its details and size. I chose the shades of green, which is one of my favorite colors because for me, it offers calmness and life which are both at stake now in the presence of a global pandemic. Many are stress and fighting for their lives so I dedicated this work to somehow, in my own little way, extend my humble help.

Letter “N”  Quilling Typography

This was made with 3 mm 120 gsm colored paper strips on a 230 gsm glossy midnight blue cardstock. This quilling typography was actually for my room as a signature frame display since my first name starts with letter “N”. My inspiration for this was a peacock as it amazes me whenever I look at it even just in pictures and videos. It was one of my first works and you can see that I was still naive in exploring quilling ideas, on the other hand, it made me proud since it served as my transition to a more sophisticated and wise quilling artist.

Dream Catcher

This was made with 3 mm 120 gsm colored paper strips on a 230 white solid cardstock. It was a request from a friend who loves dreamcatcher. It took almost 3 days to finish this one because of its size and details. I was not really aware of such then but after finishing the work I believe dreamcatcher is a good idea in exploring paper quilling.
