Austin based Photographer Laura Malischke
After being a professional boudoir, wedding and family photographer for nine years I wished to delve into the world of creative imagination. Static family photos and forgettable headshots were of no interest to me anymore. I taught myself photoshop and have never looked back.
My inspiration comes from absolutely everything. I look around and think: what silly/unusual/contradictory scenario could I make out of this? Can a girl be stuck in the tree roots? Can a person be a game piece? With photoshop, anything is possible. I’m currently only limited by my level of knowledge of the software and I’m constantly learning and practicing so that no longer is a factor. I love setting personal projects for myself that reflect any current interests, whether they be steampunk, ancient Egypt or fairies.
When clients come to me they don’t always know what they want. I love exploring their hobbies, interests or even dreams with them to create the perfect image. Other clients have an exact image in mind and it’s always so fresh and exciting for me because I never know what I’ll be working on. A family on a comic book cover? Alice in Wonderland tea party?
I have a million more ideas than I’ll ever have time for. I guess that’s a good problem! ~ www.creativefantasyimages.com
