JOANNA PILKOWSKA (1982, Warsaw, Poland) A landscape architect, philologist and graduate of the Department of Painting and Drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. Her studies in Architecture have had a significant impact on endless inspirations in urban forms and natural spaces. In her art, she strives for a compromise between harmony and imagination. Exploring more than just a conventional space, she plays with the form and color of reality to reflect the characteristic individual expression.
In her paintings we will find a large dose of stories about the most beautiful period of the year-summertime. The captivating stories enclosed in the canvas are part of a warm, cheerful summer landscape – sun, rest and the scent of flowers at night. Her optimistic works take the viewer through a carefree summer journey of sentimental memories.
She mainly creates with the use of oil paints on canvas stretchers. The artist’s work can be found in private collections throughout the country (Poland), abroad and as a stage set in TV shows and programs. ~ joanna pilkowska
