Beautiful paintings of nature’s beauty, pretty flowers and vibrant cities
I’m an artist based in Ireland, but I was born in Moldova. I’m an actuary by day and an artist by night (and weekends, holidays, and whenever else I can find the time). It’s a weird combination, creativity and numbers don’t usually go together, but it keeps me balanced and keeps my creativity flowing!
My art is influenced by many things, including my love of beauty and nature, vibrant cities, pretty flowers, and my wanderlust for travel.
When I look at the gorgeous landscapes around me, I want to throw them onto a canvas. When I stroll through city streets, I imagine how I can translate the energy into my work. When I see beautiful flowers in bloom, I’m inspired to paint something delicate yet empowering and full of life. ~ @marcela_b_art

And of course, my love of travel also plays a significant role in my art. Whenever I go somewhere new, I’m like a kid in a candy shop, eyes wide open with excitement and my camera snapping five million photos of everything around me.

All of these experiences find their way into my art and I hope it brings a little bit of joy and wonder to the viewer’s day.
“I Canal think of a name for this, but it’s Grand”, acrylics on canvas, 70×85 cm (Grand Canal, Dublin)
I also often find the world of art to be a little too serious, and that’s exactly why I’ve taken a light-hearted approach with my paintings and make sure every name brings a touch of humour to the viewer’s day.

“Having a dandy day”, acrylics on canvas, 60×75 cm
Art can be so much more than just a pretty picture hanging on a wall. With the right title, it can make you smile, laugh (or cringe, haha), but life is too short to be taken too seriously.

For me, it’s an absolute blast coming up with all the names. Before I finish a painting, I make sure to brush up on my puns because it takes a bit of creativity to come up with names!
Paint yourself a mental picture of walking into a room and seeing my artwork on display. You’ll be drawn in by the bursts of colour on each painting and then you’ll be hit with a pun that will either leave you grinning from ear to ear or cringing so hard you’ll want the ground to swallow you up. Hopefully, it’s the former.
