The Creative Journey of Nail Artist Tina Annal

My name is Tina Annal, a nail artist in Wiltshire, UK. I started my nail journey when my youngest was a baby with just an online nail course with essential nails. as being at home with a baby, I wanted a hobby and also to learn to do my own nails (who knew it would turn into a business).

I’d sit for hours on my nail training hand whenever he napped and in any spare time determent to be able to do everything on nails. I’d watch YouTube tutorials all the time and practice constantly to improve my work.

Many more courses followed, after I done a nail art course & airbrushed nails i really enjoyed this and created some amazing nails which they wanted to feature on there website, i believed i found my talent and this was what i wanted to do for my future. I was constantly buying nail art supplies that were overtaking my home, so I made a dedicated area in the house and created the start of my home salon.

At first, I was practicing with friends and family, then decided as I wanted to do this as a job, I enrolled in an NVQ nail services course in a beauty academy near me to gain an in-person and recognised qualification, also followed by a 1-1 course in Manchester with a top nail tech/educator to check i was doing it all right, and many other 1-1 nail art lessons and courses all around the UK. I have won many competitions over the years for nail art and am very proud to win the award for UK’s Best Nail Artist 2023 with the hair and beauty awards, for which my glass trophy has pride of place in my salon.

I have such a passion for nail art and have a gallery of my nail art on tips from my training hand, all my hours of practice from when my son was a baby to recent work, which is displayed all over my salon’s wall for inspiration for clients and shows the journey of my nail art.

It’s been over 10 years now that I qualified as a nail technician/nail artist and run my business from my home salon called ‘The Art of Nails—Nail Artist’, of which most of my clients have found me on my Facebook page, and by word of mouth and recommendations, my business has grown to be very successful with a full clientele of which most have been with me for many years!

I have a huge assortment of nail art supplies and have tried many brands to find the best of everything.  I do love the hand painting side of my job the best; I find it so relaxing; there’s nothing better than getting my tiny brushes out and creating something amazing; I’ve done 1000’s of beautiful designs over the years; I always love a challenge; and I’m lucky to have many clients letting me loose and creative on their nails.
