Portrait oil paintings with a palette knife
My name is Maria and I like to sign my paintings under the pseudonym Vadis.
The creative skills is a legacy from my mother and I enjoyed juggling drawing and painting from a very early age.
Since 2010, I have led my life fully dedicated to the arts through a meticulous approach study of different techniques and work styles I stopped at the portrait. I chose the complex, the mystical, the expressive but also the emotion that defines and differentiates us. I am fascinated by feminine sensitivity.
My work focuses on the representation of the face of the bust and the body in a modern vision. I like to explore human fragility and how it can be expressed through colors in a slightly abstract way. Although figurative, my paintings follow the subtlety of the dialogue between the canvas and the viewer.
I prefer oil colors and I don’t use solvents for dilution. I use multi layers to give a rich structure and I do not avoid applying the paint directly from the tube to keep the colors vivid. All paintings are created with a palette knife.
I love to paint and I am looking for the next opportunity to translate the experience of life into art.
