Self-portrait Conceptual Artist Using a Photography as Own Therapy

I’m Tea Jagodić and I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, city of Banja Luka on 2nd February, 1992 and I am a self-taught photographer and self-portrait conceptual artist. I also love to say that I am a visual storyteller. With over a 10 years of work, learning and searching for my own style, I finally quit my office job as a graphic designer and dedicated myself to a conceptual work, mentoring, giving classes, becoming a speaker and doing exhibitions. Using a photography as my own theraphy, I managed to become very serious about my work in the last especially 2 years. I took a part to many group exhibitions in Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Italy and Portugal and won 1st prizes on a multiple contests in my country of Bosnia. I’m mostly is inspired by pain, anger, hard life situations, social and stigma topics and I talk about all of that with positive income in the end and in my texts also, under the photos. As they all tell me, I influenced a lot of people on the Balkans via social media and showed that they are not alone and I am trying so badly to make a world a better place even just for a day.

As the only photographer in the country who does it this way, I consider this as a really important mission. As a conceptual self-portrait photographer, I love to talk about topics that people don’t really want to talk or think about, especially when they are relaxing on the internet and expecting only fairytales, fashion models, perfect bodies andither beautiful pictures. Using myself and my body, I’m playing a rollin the scene and talk about life situations, stigma topics, mental health, epilepsy, domestic violence and so on, where people are really, massively, finding themselves and we make the world better even for a day, showing that no one is alone in their hard times and bad emotions. I’m showing that we are all in this life together. That topics are direct, intimate, honest and raw without a perfect spatkly‘‘beauty filter’’. ~ Tea Jagodic
