My work is about delighting in the beauty and joy that can always be found in the present moment. When I was a little girl, I loved to run barefoot through flowers, allowing the leaves to brush my fingertips as sun gently kissed my cheeks. There is so much beauty that can be discovered in each moment – the sound of calling birdsong, the trickle of running water, the rustle of leaves. We all have the capacity to feel the innate wonder of the natural world when we tune in and notice it around us. My women and flowers are loose and expressive and are meant to draw of you into the delightfulness of that sensory world through sweeping brushstrokes and lush, juicy colors. I often wake in the morning and walk outside just to breathe in the fresh morning air. I inhale the sweet scent of flowers to the song of finches in the treetops. It is moments like these that deeply delight me. They are truly sublime.~ Camille Selhorst
