Kem Mendez MUA Makeup Artist
My name is Kemberly Perez, known as “Kem Mendez.” I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised in Caborca, Sonora, Mexico (Latina). Since I was 15 I was into makeup and photography, all that I know is by self practice, my face is my canvas.
Something that I’ve learned in this industry is NOT EVERYONE IS YOUR FRIEND, everyone wants something in return. People out there will want to take away your shine for their own benefits. It’s been a long and hard journey, but this is my passion and honestly, this has made me a strong person. I stand up for myself now. When I was in middle school, I would always be that girl that would hang out with everyone in there class. I am a very friendly person, so that’s why. But people would try to bully me because of my weight, posture or just because I was existing, I suffered so much depression on that time; I just remember it as a very bad memories, but I will live and go thru all of it again, because that made me STRONG, and that made me not give up on my DREAM.
Makeup has made me a person to admire and I am so thankful to be where I am at the moment. Never rush your timing, HARD WORK always pays off.
Love yourself first, before you love anyone else or your hobbies. YOU ARE YOUR OWN GOD.
